Saturday, LGBTQ activists gathered at St. Pete’s North Straub Park to stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Protesters told 10 Tampa Bay it’s important to use PRIDE as an opportunity to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

"Pride was started by a transgender woman of color," organizer Eleni Sullivan explained.

BRIC TV, in collaboration with Housing Works, hosted a live televised #BHeard Town Hall on LGBTQ civil rights. In light of the events in Orlando, the goal of the conversation was to craft a collective vision on the issues of discrimination, housing, healthcare and, most importantly, safety within the LGBTQ community.

MMC was designed to increase community awareness among the citizens of the county by broadcasting municipal events, educational programs and interviews with elected officials and other noteworthy individuals. Channel 16 is a member of the PEG Network (Public Education and Government) of Montgomery County. We are located in the Kensington Town Hall/Armory. We have a state of the art, all virtual studio which allows us to change the background for each of our programs. 6 years ago, Jonathan and Derrick (JD) met at Grambling State University. Like most black gay men, they have battled societal normality that led to self-hate, fear, spiritual confrontation, and familial tensions. JD is a testament that relationships require hard work, and love does truly win! From preaching to combatting racism; from graduate school and now law school: the two have been together through it all, showing the world that love is growth and sacrifice.
